Join us for an end-of-summer adventure day! This women's-only event will be full of nature, relaxation, and fun group activities. Our 2025 events were SO FUN (with many amazing friendships made!) so we’re doing it all again :)
Features: guided hike to a waterfall, guided horseback ride, kayaking on the Hiwassee River, and exploring the Hiwassee Acres property. Breakfast, coffee/drinks, and a full lunch is included!
This all-day event is ideal for women aged 25+ who love spending time in nature, trying new things, and meeting like-minded women. Last time we did this event, women ranged from their late 20s to early 60s, so you don’t have to be a certain age to join! Whether you’re new to Chattanooga or have lived here for years, our goal is to bring women together through a shared love of the outdoors.
Showing up to a group event where you may not know anyone can feel intimidating - we get it! A lot of women come alone, and you don’t need to worry about figuring out what to do. Just show up, enjoy the day, and let us take care of the rest!

What’s included:
✅ Meals - Breakfast upon arrival, catered lunch, coffee/tea/waters (Dietary restrictions accommodated!)
✅ Guided Waterfall Hike - Led by Hope, professional hiking guide with 7+ years experience leading group hikes (Transportation to the hike provided)
✅ Guided Horse Ride - One hour fully guided horse ride on the Hiwassee Acres property (Please note: the max weight for horseback riding is 230lbs)
✅ Kayaking on the Hiwassee River - All equipment provided
✅ Exploring/Relaxing at Hiwassee Acres - Opportunity to explore Hiwassee Acres between activities! There are also farm animals on site such as goats, sheep, a pig & cow, and a mini donkey.

📍 Hiwassee Acres - We'll be at an incredible property in Calhoun, TN! It's located 50 minutes northeast of Chattanooga & the perfect area for outdoor activities. Hiwassee Acres is made up of 225 acres of scenic land including 1 mile on the Hiwassee River. They also host overnight guests, weddings, conferences and retreats.

Hope is a full-time hiking tour guide in Chattanooga, Tennessee with her husband Ryan. Since 2018, they have led hundreds of families, couples, friend groups and solo travelers around Southeast Tennessee’s most majestic waterfalls + mountain views. Hope also has experience leading women's group hikes locally in the past. When she's not working, she's inspiring both locals and travelers alike to explore all that Chattanooga has to offer.

When is the event happening? This year’s event is happening Sunday, September 13th, 2026.
What all is included?
Breakfast, full catered lunch, and drinks (coffee/tea/water) are included, as well as all activities: guided waterfall hike led by a professional guide (transportation to trailhead & back provided), fully guided 1-hour horse ride, kayaking on the river (equipment provided), farm animals, and access to explore Hiwassee Acres’ 225 acre property.
What’s NOT included?
Transportation to Hiwassee Acres (you must have your own way to get there).
What’s the cancellation policy?
You may receive a 100% refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the event. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are eligible for a 50% refund. There are no refunds for cancellations made on the day of the event, including if you are on your way to the event and are unexpectedly unable to attend. This is because we have already purchased food and made arrangements with our activity provider based on the number of registered guests. We completely understand that things come up! Please only register if you’re confident you can attend, and be sure to double-check the event date before booking.What if the weather is predicting rain/storms that day?
In the event of a hazardous or rainy weather forecast, the event may be rescheduled to a future date or cancelled if the conditions are deemed unfavorable. A cancellation due to weather will receive a 100% refund. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, a 100% refund will be given. All of the activities will be happening outdoors with water + animals involved, and safety is our top priority.
Do I need to pay the full payment up front?
Yes, the full payment is due at time of booking and includes a small processing fee ($6.72) if paying with credit card. To avoid fees, you can choose to pay securely with your bank account or use code VENMO at checkout and Venmo me at @hope-maum.
Would I be able to stay at Hiwassee Acres before or after my event date?
If they have availability, you are more than welcome to book a stay with them overnight! Check out their accomodations at hiwasseeacres.com. If you call them to book and tell them you are with “Hope’s group” you may receive a discount.
Do I have to do EVERYTHING on the itinerary?
No, you can choose whatever activities suit you best! We will not make you participate in anything you don’t want to do. For those who choose not to do an activity, you will have free time to explore Hiwassee Acres! Please note: the price is the same whether you participate in an activity or not. *Please note: there is a max weight of 230lbs for horseback riding!
What age group is this for?
Women aged 25+ and up are welcome! Our last events consisted of women mostly anywhere in their late 20’s to early 60’s. Women of ALL ages with a love of the outdoors & that are open to meeting new people are encouraged to come. Hope is 31 years old and Kathi (host of Hiwassee Acres) is in her 50’s. We’d love to have you!
Are dogs allowed? What about kids?
No, due to the horses & other farm animals on site, pets are not allowed. This is an adults-only event.
How many women will be there?
This event is limited to 12 women.
I’m nervous to come alone, are solo travelers welcome?
Yes, of course! Our goal is to make you feel welcome and connected while enjoying activities you love in a beautiful setting. Most women will be coming solo too!
What is the fitness level of the activities?
A maximum weight for the horse ride is 230 lbs. The waterfall hiking trail is rated as moderate, with ~300ft elevation gain and 1.2 miles of hiking round trip. The trail is rocky, has some elevation gain/loss, and one spot where we climb down/up rocks on the creek which may be on the challenging side for beginners or those with a fear of heights. If you choose to kayak, the river in front of Hiwassee Acres is flat water paddling with no swift currents and great for beginners. Please note you will be required to sign a waiver to participate in all activities.
Can you accommodate food restrictions / allergies?
Yes, we will absolutely make sure you are taken care of. We will send a questionnaire after booking for dietary limitations/preferences.
What should I bring?
A suggested packing list based on the weather forecast will be sent to your email closer to the event date. Please leave bluetooth speakers, alcohol, and any smoking/illegal substances at home please <3
